It’s nearly Christmas!

December 22, 2009 — Leave a comment

I haven’t blogged in a while; a combination of last minute uni deadlines, Christmas preparations at church and the inclement British weather have seemingly gotten in my way.

And now here we are, it’s the 22nd December, and Christmas is nearly here. I’ve been really struck this year about how busy many people are over the Christmas period, getting the food and presents ready, trying to see everyone, and manically running around at the last minute. I’ve been exactly like this the last few days, and it’s ironic how we all end up in the same situation each year.

I’ve been following the blog of J.D.Walt recently, a great theologian from the US. On his blog over the advent period, he’s been posting a poem a day to make us stop and think about Christmas, to allow us to remember the real meaning behind the festivities.

It’s been really helpful for me, and I’d really encourage you to check it out:

This Christmas, take some time to remember what it’s all about.
